Wallace Whiten Obituary

Mr. Wallace Grant Whiten, age 81, of Sky Valley, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.

Born June 26, 1944, in Toccoa, Georgia, he was the son of the late Joe Holmes Whiten and Leona Carroll Whiten. He was a graduate of Toccoa High School and, in June of 1968, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia.

Wallace was an active member of the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association for many years, serving in various capacities and receiving multiple awards for his dedication to the profession.

He began his career at Medical Center Pharmacy in partnership with Claude and Mot Sorrells. He later became the owner and operator of the pharmacy and of a home medical equipment company, which became known as Convalescent Home Equipment. After more than forty successful years in business, Wallace retired to his mountain home and took on a part-time job at Ingles of Clayton to maintain the wonderful socialization skills he enjoyed so much.

Wallace treasured his summers at Lake Rabun, where he spent time with family and friends, cruised the water in his wooden Chris-Craft, and relaxed by the fire listening to his favorite country music. Fall Saturdays found him in Athens cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. An avid fan, he cherished time spent with his tailgating crew. Known as the life of the party, Wallace never missed an opportunity to share a good story. In his later years, he especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter cheer at football and basketball games and competing in tennis matches.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Whiten Krivsky (Emmett), and granddaughter, Emma, of Clayton; sister, Connie Whiten Pearson (Tim), of Seneca, SC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Joe Whiten.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Acree-Davis Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dan Lally, Spencer Lally, Sam Lally, Rylee Fulbright, Ramsey Fulbright, and Charlie Whiten.
